MAZDA IS PUTTING the finishing touches to new petrol and diesel engines and transmissions that will cut fuel economy on its medium and large cars by 20%. However, the size of the technology has forced Mazda to develop an all-new platform with a bigger engine bay. The platform can be adapted for anything from mid-sized hatchbacks and 4×4s to larger family cars and MPVs.
