摘要

If you were to examine a map of the world energy supply today it would look quite different than it did in years past. No longer is the Persian Gulf the center stage of global energy supplies. The evolving change is called revolutionary by insiders who track world energy patterns. At the end of 2012, the World Energy Outlook made sweeping forecasts issued through the International Energy Agency. Major predictions centered on big shifts to come if breakthroughs in horizontal drilling and tracking continue in the U.S. oil and gas industry Still, with the passing of one year and the beginning of the next, forecasts are a common ground for agreement and criticism. A Shockwave was heard throughout the world when the IEA predicted that by 2015 the U.S. will be the No. 1 natural gas producer in the world, a position now held by Russia.
