摘要

In the welding processes, it is expected as a matter of course to secure sufficient levels of various properties for the safety and the quality of welded structures, such as the strength and the toughness of the welded joints. In recent years, the requirement has further expected the realization of the efficient production of welded structures. Accordingly, controlling welding distortion to secure the precision of the dimensions of joints is recognised as an important task contributing to the efficiency of the production processes. For this reason, there have been numerous studies conducted on reducing and controlling welding distortions, and the mechanism of welding distortions and its determining factors Have been clarified and also a large amount of knowledge has been accumulated which has been obtained from experience over many years of in-service welding execution dealing with welding distortion. Based on these results, various measures against welding distortion have now been employed in producing welded structures.
