Now seems to be a time for review. A time to pause and to take stock of where we are, how we got there and most importantly, what we should do next. There is even a feint hint of optimism in the air. Not that everything has suddenly become hunky-dorybut perhaps the feeling of free fall has stopped. The MGA, having slimmed itself down to a point of verging on terminal anorexia, has now positioned itself in a way that lets it face the future with confidence and a good prospect of secure sustainability. Part of its future will include a return to the continuous review of the Journal. A re-examination of it objectives and how they are best achieved, it promises to be an interesting process. Straightforward enough on the face of it but in practice, extraordinarily complex. Who comes to the exercise unladen, without the baggage of emotion and prejudice? Some will resist change at all costs, others believe change, any change, is beneficial. Perhaps the biggest problem are the 'knee-jerkers' but hopefully they cancel each other, and sometimes themselves, out. But it's always worth remembering that if the status quo works reasonably well any change must be justified.
