IT WAS ABOUT 30 years ago that Alf and Hilary Shortland took a weary-looking Bay-window T2 and converted it into a Camper. The 'van impressed their friends and family, and many more besides, and soon started a stream of requests to produce more of the same. Making motorcaravans became a growing sideline to Alf's building company - in fact it proved to be a better business proposition, with less hassle.
