Because of reduced availability of tin-bearing bronzes from secondary raw materials, in recent years there has been a particularly sharp need to process copper base alloys, containing tin, in order to separate the metals [1]. At the same time, the demand for tin in pure copper remains. The program of reprofiling one of the copper smelters in the Urals calls for development and introduction of a technology for separating metals from secondary bronze-containing raw material, using an approach which incorporates ecological improvements around combines, located on city outskirts. At the Department of Metallurgy of Heavy Non-Ferrous Metals of the Ural'sk Polytechnical institute, research was conducted on the separation of copper alloys to individual components electrochemically. This method makes it possible - with minimal capital expenditures and in a single cycle - to produce cathodic copper and slimes with a high tin content. Its conversion to a master alloy with a specific composition poses no special difficulties and makes it possible to achieve high metals recovery [2]. Studies were made into the effect that the composition of electrolytes and anodes has on electrolysis indices and makes it possible to achieve high metals recovery [2].
