Product development processes are continually being optimized. Companies use new R&D tools that help them reduce the lead time and costs needed for the development of new products. Computational fluid dynamics using 3-D CAD models is such a tool, which is still used rarely but whose acceptance is growing constantly. In this article, different fields of application for flow simulation in the development of control valves will be presented.
