East Asia - The market for commercial vehicles (over 2 tons gvw) across East Asia's seven main markets (excluding China) continued to expand in the fourth quarter of 2015, with sales rising by 5.3% to 412,791 units after a 2.2% increase in the third quarter and a 3.7% decline in the first half of the year. Full-year sales were just slightly higher at 1,501,690 units compared with 1,500,591 in 2014, according to data compiled by www.AsiaMotorBusiness.com from various industry sources across the region. The fourth- quarter improvement reflected mainly a 3% sales rise in the Japan, the region's largest commercial vehicle market, and a significant rebound in Thai sales after three years of decline.
