SML Isuzu launches XM series truck range

Chandigarth - SML Isuzu Ltd (formerly Swaraj Mazda Ltd) of Chandigarth, has launched a new medium-duty trucks, which is to be sold under the name of the XM series. The Japanese majority-owned subsidiary (Sumitomo Corporation of Tokyo, Japan holds 43.96% and Isuzu Motors Ltd, also of Tokyo, Japan, holds 15%) launched four vehicle variants in New Delhi, last month: the Cosmo XM, Super 12.9 XM, Samrat HD12.9 XM, and the Samrat Tipper XM. The Cosmo XM, which is the smallest model in the range of vehicles, has the same payload and gross weight of the previous Cosmo model of 3.2 tons payload and 5.7t gvw, but the main difference, SML states, is the improvement in terms of torque as well as fuel efficiency of about five per cent. It is fitted with a 10-inch high standard cargo body and has been designed to be highly maneuverable for urban delivery operations.
