Brazil/USA - Supplying engines for new customer applications in trucks and buses is one of the key pillars of Cummins' growth strategy in Brazil. As part of this initiative, Cummins Inc of Columbus, Ohio, through its subsidiary, Cummins Brasil Ltda of Sao Paulo, Brazil plans to invest USD48m on engineering technology and in further modernization of its plant in Guarulhos, state of Sao Paulo unit, where its diesel engines are produced. It also announced plans to invest more than USD90m in the first phase of construction of a new plant at Itatiba, in state of Sao Paulo, to where it plans to transfer its energy and filter business areas. This new plant is expected to begin operations during 2015.
