Kassbohrer plans to double trailer production and sales by 2018

The Tirsan Group of Adapazan, which trades under the Kassbohrer name, has set a trailer sales target of some 18,000 to 20,000 trailers by the end of 2018; effectively more than doubling current sales from the 9,150 units sold this year (2013). It also plans to double turnover from trailer sales and services - in 2012 trailer sales accounted for EUR200m and with the DAF dealership this increases to EUR325m. In 2018 it aims to exceed revenues of EUR500m. This target may seem ambitious, but there again perhaps not, when its recent track record shows that in a shorter time frame it has trebled its sales from 3,137 trailers in 2009 to the 9,150 sold this year. This is even more impressive when this growth has been achieved during one of the worst global recessions in history, during a period of economic uncertainty due to the EU debt crisis and during a time when most other trailer manufacturers are only now returning to volumes last experienced before the global financial crisis. Asked how it would double its sales, Iffet Turken, Kassbohrer executive board member/business development at Tirsan said that that it would build up its numbers gradually in both its domestic market as well as in export markets, so that exports would match or exceed its domestic sales by 2018.
