Notorious traffic bottleneck to be eased in Kent

Both congestion and accident prone, an infamous section of the A21 London to Hastings trunk road is getting a make over. Final design touches are being made to a ￡70M scheme to dual the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury in Kent, thereby eliminating arguably the worst pinch point in south east England. The current 4.1km single carriageway road sits between two sections of dual carriageway and - carrying upwards of 35,000 vehicles per day- is the cause of both congestion and accidents.
