Continued uncertainty over the future delivery of major projects in the UK has led Amey's infrastructure consulting division to strengthen its capabilities in areas other than construction and develop its expertise overseas. The business acquired the utilities and highway maintenance contractor Enterprise plc this spring, making Amey one of the most diverse players in the UK public and regulated sectors with a turnover of ￡2.3 Bn and a workforce of 21,000 employees.
