Construction of a ￡25M high profile 'shared space' scheme has started along Exhibition Road in Kensington in London, but such initiatives are rare and unlikely in most urban areas. More relevant to the majority of places is Walworth Road in the London Borough of Southwark where a remarkable transformation has been achieved with a total budget of ￡4M.
