Transport sector eyes jobs market recovery

Career opportunities in construction may appear thin on the ground, but transportation still needs skills at all levels and one or two major projects have renewed a sense of optimism. Construction was hit hard by the economic downturn as funding dried up and projects ground to a halt. The impact on jobs was sudden and the UK's construction workforce shrunk by 8.2% in a year, according to labour market figures released in December by the Office for National Statistics.
