Ten million extra passenger journeys a year are expected on Dublin's trams following completion of a crucial 6km north-south extension which provides a city centre interchange. Construction sites seem to be around every corner in central Dublin where a major new section of the Irish capital's 'Luas' light rail system is currently being built. The project is to extend the Luas Green Line - one of two tram routes through Dublin - from St Stephen's Green south of the River Liffey to Broombridge Station in the north west of the city.
