摘要

Screening trail was carried out to test different methods of pathogenicity and reaction of different varieties against frit rot disease. Pathogenicity trail was conducted using four different methods viz., knife injury, cork borer injury, carborandom powder injury and pin prick injury. All the method of inoculation were effectivebut inoculations made by cork borer method were used in screening. Screening trail was carried out using five brinjal varieties viz., Su ra t i ravaiy a, Bilimorabhadtha, GBL-2,NSRP-1 and AB-08-5 against fruit rot in laboratory. Out of five varieties screened, none of the variety was found free from the disease under artificial conditions.The fruit rot incidence was recorded ranging from 36.62 to 79.83 per cent in all the varieties tested. The popular variety, SuratiRavaiya had the highest fruit rotNSRP-1 variety was found susceptible, whereas SuratiRavaiya and BilimoraBhadtha were found highly susceptible.
