This project examined dietitians' methods for identification and promotion of whole grains; the awareness and use of Whole Grain Stamp and the US Food and Drug Administration's guidance that whole grains be identified as products with 51% whole-grain content by weight. A total of 139 subjects were surveyed on their awareness of these tools, use of other identification and promotion methods, level of satisfaction with resources for promotion, and perceived barriers to educating clients about whole grains. Awareness of the Whole Grain Stamp was found to be dependent on age (P = 009) and years in dietetic practice (P = ,009).
