摘要

The frequency of haemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN) because of anti-D can be minimized by preventing primary immunization of D-negative mothers against the D-positive antigen carried by their foetuses by administering anti-D to mothers at tunes of high risk of foetomaternal haemorrhage (FMH) (Parker et al, 2007). By giving anti-D at delivery, for sensitizing events during pregnancy and as routine prophylaxis during the third trimester of pregnancy, current maternal sensitization rates could be reduced to around 0-3% (Mayne et al, 1997).
