Balancing wheels and the environment

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is teaming up with auto manufacturers, distributors, retailers, recyclers, and consumers to put the brakes on the use of lead wheel weights on tire and wheel assemblies. EPA's new National Lead-Free Wheel Weight Initiative (NLFWWI) is working to reduce the amount of hazardous lead in the manufacture, use, and sale of wheel weights.
