The balancing method involves fixing (S1) a paddle wheel with multiple holes and rotating on a balancing unit. The unbalance and the phase of the paddle wheel are measured (S2) during rotation by a sensor of the balancing unit. A measuring signal is generated, and a mass balance unit is provided, which detects the hole to be compensated according to the measurement signal and determines the compensation for the mass for the compensated hole.
