摘要

The objective of this study was to gain understanding of the biomechanical stresses imposed on the workers while performing manual metal-pouring operations. A video analysis was performed to identify the current method of metal pouring and to determine the compression and shear forces on the lower back during such activities. It was determined that the manual metal-pouring operations are strenuous and exceeds both recommended current acceptable LS/S1 compression and human energy expenditure limits.
