When it comes to Mac Fever the coastal fringe is the hardest hit, yet the tentacles of this insidious disease can reach up into the hills as well. Some anglers cop a dose every year, whilst others build a temporary immunity, usually lasting for a year or two after an extremely heavy infection on a tough year. Optimistic predictions and rumours of an early run brought on by global warming are common.Every offshore angler has an opinion on mackerel.
