BEFORE fixing tiles, the following checks are advisable. Ensure that the background is mature, dry and stable. Check that the background is sufficiently flat, pre-smooth if necessary. Identify where movement joints are required. Set out the tiling to be visually acceptable with a minimum of cut tiles. Select the appropriate adhesive and grout for the end use of the tiling. Mix and apply the adhesive and grout in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Install movement joint sealant where required.
