U.S.Commerce Dept.preliminary probe finds China subsidizes its OTR tire industry

WASHINGTON-The U.S.Commerce Department has preliminarily found that the Chinese government is subsidizing its off-the-road(OTR)tire industry,a further affirmation of Titan International Inc.'s and the United Steelworkers'(USW)assertion that it does.Titan and the USW filed a countervailing and anti-dumping duty complaint with the International Trade Commission(ITC)earlier this year,claiming that U.S.OTR tire makers are being materially injured by Chinese imports at less than fair value.
