ITEC to give away $20,000 in scholarships, charity

AKRON-The International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) is supporting the tire industry through a $20,000 scholarship and charity program that will debut at the next ITEC Show, Sept. 18-20, 2012, in Cleveland."ITEC is taking an active approach by giving back to the tire industry," said David Zielasko, editor and vice president/publisher of Tire Business, an ITEC organizer. "ITEC is pledging $10,000 in scholarship money to support the scholarship efforts of the industry's tire dealer associations."In addition, the ITEC Charity Program will provide $10,000 to tire manufacturers' chari-table funds, Mr. Zielasko said.ITEC is North America's largest tire-focused trade show and conference and is aworking event for tire professionals from dealers and . distribution channels to tire technology and manufacturing. The show offers an extensive educational pro-gram, more than 200 exhibitors and networking opportunities.
