Canned Food UK, the trade organisation devoted to promoting the benefits of canned food has continued to achieve strong consumer interest in 2006 following a series of successful celebrity backed initiatives. Celebrity chef, James Martin, and TV presenter, Philippa Forrester, have both backed Canned Food UK's PR campaign which aims to promote the nutritional benefits of canned food and specifically tackle the misconceptions which are often a barrier to consumers buying canned food products. Philippa Forrester specifically worked with Canned Food UK as part of the Everyday Nutrition campaign which aims to encourage consumers to use everyday foods in order to achieve a healthy balanced diet. Together with nutritionist Anita Bean, Philippa has created a handy free wall chart guide which acts as a daily reminder of which nutrients consumers should be including in their diet everyday, plus handy sources from the cupboard to help consumers get the right daily amounts.
