Decisions will be made on science-based data. That is what the US Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) regulations on tobacco state. The question may well be: what science and, especially, whose science? This question is more than justified when lookingat the first results delivered by the FDA under the new law. It was the virtual prohibition of e-cigarettes, based on more than flimsy science but with major consequences; Israel banned e-cigarettes within 48 hours, with other countries looking to do the same, using the FDA as reference.
