Falconbridge Limited of Canada released on the 25th of April (local time) their settlement of accounts for the first quarter (January - March) of 2006. According to this report, the revenues for the first quarter of 2006 came to 2,858 million US dollars, having had a considerable increase of 51 percent compared with that (1,894 million US dollars) for the same quarter of 2005. Consequently, the net earnings recorded 462 million US dollars, resulting in a remarkable increase of 162 percent (2.6 times) compared to that (176 million US dollars) for the same quarter of 2005.
