China Issues Export Licenses To Cover Silicon Carbide For Shipments In 2nd Half 2006

The Central Government of China issued in last week export licenses to the companies concerned, covering silicon carbide (SIC) to be shipped from China in the second half of 2006. The total quantity of silicon carbide allocated under export licenses for shipments in the second half of 2006 is 111,500 tons as the same quantity as that allocated for shipments in the first half. The Central Government of China has already decided the annual quantity of silicon carbide to be shipped in the calender year (January - December) of 2006 as 223,000 tons and, accordingly, export licenses to cover half of this quantity have been issued this time.
