摘要

This article describes a novel RT-PCR based method for the rapid and sensitive detection of deformed wing virus (DWV) in honeybee samples. Since there is a very limited information on DWV available at the molecular level, the development of this RT-PCR protocol can provide answers to questions concerning different molecular aspects of DWV infection of honeybees, pathogenicity and virulence. In general, all seven DWV primer pairs employed in this study are suitable for the direct, specific and sensitive detection of DWV in honeybee samples and can also be used for the phylogenetic analysis of DWV.
