WITH INCREASING REGULARITY we hear about another young veterinary surgeon who is thinking about resigning his or her job and possibly giving up veterinary medicine as a career altogether. The spiel goes something like this: "She's a good vet, but shelacks confidence and worries all the time about doing anything without assistance or reassurance. And she won't go near bitch spays. I have supported her. I have encouraged her and shown her she can actually do it, but she still doesn't get it."
