Republican takeover of the Senate and a boost in the GOP's House majority add up to increased oversight of FDA, predicts Latham & Watkins partner John Manthei. At least eight seats in the Senate were considered toss-ups, and candidates ran many tight races in the election, but on Nov. 4 the Republican party captured chairs up for grabs in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Montana, North Carolina, South Dakota and West Virginia, adding up to 52 seats they will command in the 2015-16 session of Congress.
