A partnership between community pharmacists and general practitioners in the management of ischaemic heart disease: a feasibility study

Primary prevention of ischaemic heart disease (IHD) represents an ideal situation, but recent research suggests that much of the decline in IHD morbidity and mortality rates during the past two decades has been achieved as a consequence of secondary prevention measures.~(1-4) Delivering appropriate secondary prevention programmes of care, however, that encompass the key therapeutic and lifestyle interventions, presents significant challenges to health care providers.~(5-7)
