Rheumatologists in th UK have welcomed the launch of the new non-steroidal anti-in-falmmatory drug rofecoxib (Vioxx, MSD) but they say that much more data are needed to see whether the drug is going to fulfil its promise of reduced gastrointestinal toxicity.
