The purpose of the report is to study the postmarketing surveillance of short- and long-term toxicities or adverse-effects associated with chemotherapy for several major cancers that are often treated with chemotherapy. This study was conducted in a large cohort of over 300,000 patients who were diagnosed with breast, ovarian, lung or colorectal cancer at age 65 or older from 1991 to 2005 in the nationwide 16 SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) cancer registries, accounting for 26.2% of the total US population.
