Tube hydroforming continues to grow in Importance, mainly in the automotive industry.~1 In most cases, the hydroforming process used is internal high-pressure (IHP) forming, which uses pressure on the inside of the tube to expand the tube to fill a die cavity.Another process is external high-pressure (EHP) forming. This process uses external pressure and an internal mandrel. The tube is formed onto the mandrel so that the inner contour of the formed component becomes the contour of the mandrel.~(2,3)
