ARE YOUR SUPERVISORS GOOD ENOUGH? Training, management techniques can be a fabricator's keys to success or failure

An article in the December 2002 issue of TPJ - The Tube & Pipe Journal titled "Why settle for good enough?" was based on a study of 427 Midwestern manufacturers, 24 of which were steel pipe and tube fabricators. It explored why some were more profitable than others. Further interviews with most of the 24 tube fabricators led to a subsequent article, "Are you still settling for good enough?" which examined four executive traits that turn into traps and prevent fabricators from achieving success. This article continues the series and explores supervisor training and its role in a company's success.
