Sandvik Steel announced plans to dis-continue production of seamless stainless steel tube at its Sterling Tubes subsidiary in the U.K. It will transfer production to its main plant in Sandviken, Sweden, and other units within the Sandvik Group.The domestic supply statistics in this report cover shipments by do-mestic manufacturers for domestic consumption. U.S. export shipments have not been included in this data. The import statistics are prepared by the U.S. Bureau of Census from U.S. Customs Ser-vice documents. All quantities are in net tons (2,000 pounds).
