摘要

The need to increase plant capacity is driving an increase in capital spending in 2001, according to a national survey of fabricators conducted The Croydon Group, Ltd., publisher The FABRICATOR, TPJ-The Tube & Pipe Journal, STAMPING Journal, and practical Welding Today. Fifty percent those surveyed in 2000 reported their capital investment for equipment will increase in 2001, while 38 percent expect 2001 spending to match 2000 levels. The capital spending survey was undertaken by The Croydon Group to give suppliers to the metal fabricating industry a snapshot of the buying intentions of fabricating shops in the U.S. over the next year. Survey participants were chosen from the circulation lists of all four Croydon publications. They were contacted by phone in June and July 2000.
