Union Steel Repairs CCL at Kiheung Plant/Scheduled to suspend production for one week from July 1

Union Steel is repairing its No.2 color coating line (CCL) at its Kiheung Plant. In this connection, the Kiheung Plant is suspending the production of its pre-pained steel sheets for one week from July 1 and conducting the facility replacement works as well in order to upgrade the quality of those steel sheets. Union Steel replaced two units of ovens for the No.2 CCL to lift the residue removing level by one notch in February last year and repaired two units of superannuated ovens at the CCL by coating the insides of the ovens with STS 304 in March. Besides, the company introduced a tension leveler for an improvement of the flatness level of its pre-painted steel sheets in attempt to positively settle the customers' claims made with the occurrence of wave defect on the surface of those steel sheets.
