Aggregate Slab Production Exceeds 100 Million Tons at Continuous Casting Plant II of POSCO Pohang Works

The aggregate production of slabs by the Continuous Casting Plant II at the Pohang Works of POSCO exceeded 100 million tons on October 1. 100 million tons of slabs is the tonnage good enough to build about 5,000 large-size vessels that carry 8,000 containers each or bind the globe four times with line pipes with 3.8 meters in diameter. The Continuous Casting Plant II, which is operating two casting lines, has produced slabs with 220-300mm and 250mm in thickness and 1,600-2,200mm and 870-2,150mm in width.
