Quality innovation activity pays off, increasing exports by over 10 percent each month. Exports of domestic fasteners are increasing at pace of about 10 percent per month this year, as they, from raw materials to finished products, are being favored over Chinese products in overseas markets. Despite strength in terms of price, Chinese products are still obviously fall far behind Korean goods in quality, and therefore, the Korean fasteners are preferred mainly by automakers in the U.S., said officials at a large fastener maker. Such a phenomenon can be easily noticed not only in fasteners for automotive use, but also in the ones for constructional use. In fact, it was reported a while ago that U.S. automakers favors Korean parts because the quality of Chinese goods failed to meet their expectation compared with their prices. Of course, it was a story related to the modularized automotive parts, but since they have to meet the stringent quality standard requirements from automakers at home and abroad, the tendency to give a high priority to quality is getting stronger.
