Plant parasitic nematode Meloidogyne incognita is highly pathogenic to ginger causing heavy galling on roots. It plays a vital role in the development of the rhizome rot, which is incited by pathogenic fungi Fusarfuml oxysporum. The studies were madeto assess the influence of nematode densities and the combine effect of the fungi and nematode alongwith individual effects on Zingiber officinale (var. local). After 60,100,150 days of inoculation, data revealed that with every increase in nematode inoculum level from 10 to 10,000 there was a corresponding decrease in plant growth characters including rhizome weight .The fibrous roots were highly reduced at highest inoculum level and nematode multiplication rate was maximum at 10 nematode level. The reduction in plant growth characters and severity of root-knot and rotting Incidence were more in N+F combination than either of the pathogen alone.
