Luminescent, Liquid CrystallineTris(N-salicylideneaniline)s: Synthesis andCharacterization

摘要

A new class of discotics derived from tris(N-salicylidene-aniline)s have been synthesized and their thermal andphotophysical properties are investigated. These systems withouter 1,3,4-oxadiazole wings exist in an inseparable mixtureof two keto-enamine tautomeric forms with C_3hand G_srotational symmetries, and self-assemble into fluid columnarphase over a wide thermal range as evidenced by severalcomplementary studies. They possess emissive characteristicsin both solution and columnar states; the blue light (A. =474 nm) emission has been evidenced for the former state.
