Application of Grey Situation Decision to Port Engineering Alternatives Selection

This paper studies the applications of the grey situation decision (GSD) to the evaluation and selection of port engineering alternatives. The main objective of the study is to select an optimum alternative in a port engineering model, which includes 4 aspects: the engineering, finance, transportation and environmental aspects, respectively. In addition, a procedure involving 10 evaluation criteria is drafted for the selection of alternatives. Finally, this paper examines the application of a case study for the port container terminal, which verifies that the model is a feasible, precise and easy-to-use method of operation.
