Summaries of nursing care-related systematic reviews from the Cochrane library: Homocysteine-lowering interventions for preventing cardiovascular events.

摘要

The review showed that the data were very consistent in all 8 randomized controlled trials, although the methodology varied in participants (participants with or without preexisting CVD), doses (2.5 mg vitamin B9, 0.4 mg vitamin B12, and 25 mg vitamin B6 per day in high-dose multivitamin therapy and 20 ug vitamin B9, 6 ug vitamin B12, and 200 ug vitamin B6 per day in low-dose multivitamin therapy), and control strategies (7 studies controlled with placebo or standard care, whereas 1 study compared with high versus low dose of HLI).
