Mini-Medical School was conceived by Dr. John Cohen at the University of Colorado in 1989. Since then this innovative idea has spread rapidly. Mini-Medical Schools (MMSs) are usually offered by hospitals or faculties of medicine as part of their public education programs. They are designed to provide people with a deeper and more complete under-. standing of the human body and disease. The concept is spreading to other faculties-programs such as Mini-Law and Mini-Music have started to appear.
