New pact between standardizers and engineers

STANDARDS AUSTRALIA has renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with one of its major stakeholders, Engineers Australia. Under the new agreement, the two organisations will work co-operatively in the development of Standards for the engineering industry. The MoU was signed in November 2004 by Engineers Australia President, Professor Andrew Downing, and Standards Australia's Chairman, John Castles AM. The signing was witnessed by the Secretary General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Alan Bryden, who was in Australia to attend the ISO Networking Conference.
