Towards Standardization of MicroCT as a Tool for Characterizing Tissue Engineered Scaffolds

Conclusions: These results demonstrate the utility of microCT for reconstructing scaffold microarchitecture, detecting manufacturing differences and monitoring changes during degradation. Reconstructions are illustrative of results that can be generated using guidelines established for microCT characterization under development in the American Society for Testing and Materials International [4]. Further standardization efforts will advance microCT as a quantitative tool for scaffold development.
